@danie10 Throughout the article I have tried so hard to spot the punchline but couldn't. This IS a joke right?
@danie10 But I mean, the article makes Cannabis sounds like a panacea that cures all random diseases.
Also
> The results make it almost inevitable that the Government will bow to public pressure and legalise the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes by 2002
is pretty hilarious.
But yeah I do agree UK needs to legalize cannabis, and many countries should do the same.
@8zu right at the end of the article they do list some targeted uses - often it is pain relief but I have heard more than once claim about a "cure" for some forms of cancer - have not seen actual evidence of that but hopefully that is being researched too. Ironic that for so many years no mainstream research was done.
@8zu of course it is the medicinal extract that is sought for medical use and not the psychotic effect of the plant. Despite that it seems legalization is proceeding in many countries seeing we have alcohol and tobacco...
@8zu you'd have to ask The Guardian but the UK government has been lagging behind other countries so this is not new elsewhere. US has already started and so has South Africa's National Parliament.
