Is it bad form to block people immediately who are obviously already thinking about commodifying their social capital on here and are clearly churning out jargon-riddled content so they can be "thought leaders" or is that encouraged?

I'd guess "officially" it's up to the individual instance but, personally, I'll be blocking them... life's to freakin' short for that nonsense and honestly it's why I'm getting a little tired of the "other" site.

The social aspect of social media has been getting lost in the urge to broadcast and market every idle thought.

Let's all talk instead :)

@Emperyan So glad to hear someone else feels that way. I honestly am exhausted by the "here's how to monetize your personal brand" crowd, but then I remember when I saw my first corporate website at 15 or 16 and was bummed out about the end of the internet. It was for Juicyfruit, which I've thus never purchased.
