Observation: As a person who has seen a few online communities come and go - as I am sure many on here are - it is interesting to see the 'soft' aspects of community form. The site provides the 'hard' framework, and this particular one seems very flexible, and is open, but the community is more than it's protocol.
When they are new, online communities are like a cross between a work party and an open house. It's fun to observe, and often the newness and novelty spurns quality sociality.

@NilVeritas Agreed. Members of a new community can really shape the ethos. I'm hopeful that the draw of "no-Nazis" will lead to something sustainable.

@NilVeritas it's like an alternate reality where trolls and advertisers don't exist. 🌈

@NilVeritas It is also true that small trends can become magnified in a new community and spread, like the first vibrations of the universe formed the structure of the galactic superstructures. I saw that in Ello a bit and back in Google Wave (rest it's soul). So setting the right tone at the beginning matters.
