Heroes always save the world in the nick of time. When I become a villain, all my timers will activate when they reach 5, not 0.

Honestly tell me who else is more legitimate than our house?

One of the nice things about doing personal sysadmin shit is that my professionalism doesn't get in the way and prevent me from drinking.

I think this might be worth some sort of mini-celebration. I never thought I'd live to see the day.

When you complain about the way an #instance is run when you are not helping to run, fund, or otherwise operate it, you're missing the point of a federal system. Instances are private organizations run by public-goods providers. They and theirs get to set the rules. It's decentralization, not Rule by the Loudest.

Why is this not the official image of Mastodon yet

What can you get for someone who has everything? Show more

actually why are Mastodon instances not called herds

Someone on the bird site just tweeted a TED Talk about cult deprogramming which is weird because I thought TED was a cult?

Mastodon politics, safe spaces, and breaking the federation for fun and profit.

I'm still trying to figure out where I stand on this whole thing. I mean because it is so easy to move instances it makes the pro blockers actually seem quite okay. If your admin blocks people that you still want to talk to. You can move.

However this gives instance admins the ability to effectively wage wage war on other instances and cause little Internet refugee crisis situations.

I think the best solution is to give users the power to block instances, not admins.
