tomo's toot translator totally works! I can read Japanese toots, now.

You can get it at github.com/tomouchuu/mastodon- mastodon.al/media/Q5ZARNwvUtL3

Nice work, tomo.

Has anyone had any luck running two docker-based mastadon instance on the same server? My problems are 1) that both instances want to use the same set of container names; and 2) how do I make sure the second web container is talking to its own database and streaming instances, and not the ones mapped to the first web instance.

Rex: Well, Mr. President, Republican tradition is to go an a diplomatic offensive to assemble an international coalition before blundering into a Middle Eastern war.

DT: Good plan. Call up that British woman. Tricia May. Tell her she can be my Tony Blair.

Rex: Well, I'm a little short on staff so...

DT: Fuck it. Send in the missiles.

I'm getting a 500 error when I add media on my instance. I'd like to chase it down... how do I get a look at the log files on a docker install?

My French is terrible, but I appreciate the reading practice. I'd like to be able to plug toots into an online translator to figure out if my interpretation is close.

Apparently the Amazon AWS Email Sandbox is a thing. To get out of it you have to request a daily mailing limit and they check out your use case before letting you have it. A minor pain, but its good they are careful about who they let send emails through their system.

This desktop UI though. Its rough on my single-threaded brain.

I'm trying to get an instance of the Mastodon server up an running and I have a question: does https need to be turned on for federation to work?

What else might contribute to my inability to follow any other instances using my @Spike@be.vrb.al profile?

@Minivet Can you try following me at @Spike@be.vrb.al ? I can't seem to get the account on that server to follow you.
