So what app do folks use for this thingy?
Good job, everyone. Let's all go make a difference somewhere today.

If an instance would only procure peers, serve a UI, and handle 3rd party logins, the node would only be an entry point to network, without (legal) responsibilities for hosting & removing content. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just blocked my first annoying mastadon user. This place already feels like a good ole' fashioned social network.
Mastodon.social is an open-source Twitter competitor that’s growing like crazy. http://www.theverge.com/2017/4/4/15177856/mastodon-social-network-twitter-clone

SO, does it matter what instance you're apart of?
Wonder is Gary Vaynerchuk is on this thing!?
How do you change "Instances" ... not that I wanna leave you guys... but I want to just know how!
Follow 4 follow?
This is fascinating.

@PresCEO So there's mastodon.social, which is the first. But each one is sorta treated equally. If you want, you could run your own instance and still interact with the whole network.
@kourage So, each instance is it's own tiny social network. These tiny networks can talk with pretty much all the other instances to make a big social network. The local feed is just for your instance and the federated feed is all of them. You can search for people by searching @<username>@<instanceURL> and that's the same way you can mention someone. Other than that, it's kinda like twitter.
